Community

COMMUNITY
eNGAGEMENT

We believe the publishing process does not need to be an individual process. Rather, we draw on the resources, skills, and encouragement given to us in our family of faith. Our creativity and our life together go hand-in-hand.

How does it work?

We welcome inquiries about partnering on creative
projects. From start to finish, we take a community
approach to publishing a creating.

CONTACT: Let us know about your potential project! Submit your project in whatever form it might be in: outline, concept, overview, etc. If we believe this project is in line with our mission and values, we will follow onto the next step. If not, we will do our best to refer your idea to another publisher or process that may be a better fit.

CLARITY: We will work with you to develop an initial vision of what this project would look like and how we can best move it forward. The vision could include type of publishing, financing, steps forward, and desired impact.

COMMUNITY: We will pair you up with a team of our Fellows. This team will work with you from start to finish, offering advice, encouragement, accountability, and the honesty you need to perfect your craft and bring your project to completion.

PUBLISHING: We will hand the completed project off for edits, design, and printing or e-publishing.

COMMUNICATION: We partner with you to communicate your published work to the church and world.

who IS SWORD & SWAN?

We are a group of men and women from a variety of vocations striving to support, encourage, and promote the work of those who are telling God’s story through their creative work. Our aim is to make it possible for their voices to speak into the church and world through the creation of written, visual, and audio media.

Our Board of Fellows partner with creatives, offering counsel, direction, and encouragement from the beginning to the end of projects. The diverse education and professional experience of each member bring a variety of unique perspectives to our leadership.

The Fellows are the face of Sword and Swan and maintain both the quality and voice of the media house. A creator will come to know the Fellows through feedback, mentorship, encouragement, and critique. The community approach offered by our Fellows is part of what makes Sword and Swan unique.

what do we publish?

Churches often spend endless hours creating their own media,
or end up using media from other Christian traditions because
no relevant options exist within their own. What if music, videos,
curriculum, and artwork produced by local churches could be
accessible in a central location? Now they can! We encourage
creative thinkers to work together for the benefit of the Church
and its mission through the creative mediums listed below.
